Extremely well designed weapon system. I received mine recently and ran 90 rds thru it at my local gun club. Very accurate and easy to shoot even with the clip on iron sights we installed. This large caliber has less noticeable kick than the custom built high end AR15 platform .223 my buddy was shooting. The gas system OOW redesigned is nothing short of Amazing. I’m wanting another in FDE and maybe Green just because lol.

  2. Dave Green

I’ve had mine since they were first introduced. One of my favorites to shoot. Very accurate out to 1000 yards.

I always draw interest when at the range and allow fellow members an opportunity to try it out.

I’m very happy with this purchase.

Own both the BAR and the HCAR purchased from Ohio Ordnance Works. Both weapons are chambered in 30.06 , but the better weapon is the BAR. Has the military appearance and is damn accurate. Shot the BAR with iron sights at a human silhouette at 438 yards, which looks like a postage stamp at that distance and could consistently hit the target. HCAR to me is like an AR on steroids. Heavy and cumbersome, still a nice weapon. Mr.Landies really got it right with the BAR they produced.

  4. Tommual Heathen

I’ve been shooting my H.C.A.R. for 3 years & have to say it is the most enjoyable firearm I have ever owned. I mounted a Schmidt & Bender 5-25×56 PMII scope on it & have no trouble at hitting broken pieces of clay pigeons at 200 yds. Recoil is less than 223 bolt guns I have fired. I often wonder the reaction John Browning would have to the brilliant modernization OOW did of his design. I own 3 of OOW BARs & find them to be very reliable & very accurate. Why waste your time with a Poodle Shooter when you can have the real deal?

I have #133 of 250 ,20″ in FDE , Glass is Eotech Vudu 5-25 Horus I am shooting 1/4 groups at 100Yd ( from bench) using PPU 150 grn Garand ammo ,running a rugged Surge suppressor. This gun exceeds all my expectations . I originally got it for fun and now it is my go to gun.
Get one , you wont regret it.

  6. Captain Robbie Roberts

The only way to describe this rifle is perfection in engineering. John Moses Browning was described as (The Leonardo Davinci of Firearms) and his genius was on full display with the introduction of the B.A.R. He would be extremely proud of what Ohio Ordnance Works has done with the design. They have catapulted the B.A.R. into 2021 with all the technical innovations available today. I would like to personally thank them for their work on the legacy of the B.A.R.

Absolutely amazing, great shooting, superbly made weapon. Zero malfunctions running surplusM2 ball, recoil is surprisingly light. By far my favorite piece.
